There are so many machineries around farms to give an insight into some of them. A few are listed below to give a detailed introduction about some farm vehicles.

To haul cattle, sheep, pigs and horses, a number of different styles of trailers are available. Stock trailers are the most common of all the trailers. This is preferred because it is enclosed on the bottom, but half way up, approximately eye level, it has openings. A lot of farmers prefer this as it allows access to check on the livestock and also provides good ventilation for the animals. A more elaborate stock trailer is the horse trailer. These are designed for safety and comfort for the animals. Horses are usually transported for competitions or work, and must arrive in peak physical condition.

It is often a personal choice as to which vehicle a farmer prefers. Horse trailers and stock trailers can vary a lot in size. Ones capable of holding perhaps one to three animals like the small unit trailers can easily be pulled by a pick up truck or even an (SUV), whereas the larger semi-trailers can transport a significant number of animals. These are used more often for the transportation of sheep, pigs, and cows to market.

Combines can be used for many different crops, they are equipped with removable heads (headers), and these are for particular crops. A platform header or the most common name grain platform is the standard header; this has a reciprocating knife cutter bar and has the added feature of a revolving reel having plastic or metal teeth. The function of this device is for the cut crop to fall into the head by use of the cross auger, pulling the crop into the throat. This is used for many different crops including grains and legumes.

Another header is the wheat header. These may sound similar but the reel is not equipped with teeth. Instead of using a cross auger, some use a rubber apron or fabric called draper headers. These are preferred by some farmers as they allow faster feeding than cross augers, therefore leading to higher throughputs. To reduce overall costs, many farms prefer platform headers to cut their wheat than using separate wheat headers.

A tractor will be found on most farms as they can be used for many different jobs around the farm. There are compact and subcompact tractors. Some available in diesel which most farmers prefer as they offer a four wheel drive. This is often needed by most farmers when plowing snow or going across rugged hills to check on their sheep or other farm animals. Most of the models have a three point hitch plus PTO, which means they can operate a range of different implements.

The other tractor which is popular for commercial farms is the utility tractor and is a heavy duty unit. These all come with a three point hitch and the PTO horsepower up to 45 to 110 ranges. The utility tractor, like the compact tractors, are offered the choice of diesel engines, four wheel drives are also available. These tractors are the ones that farmers often call the workhorse as they can do almost any job. Generally, most farm vehicles are heavy duty and designed to do any work around the farm, or in the muddy fields.
